OUR MISSION
Support young people living in poverty by building more resilient communities through strategic partnerships between varsity sports teams, the private sector and NGOs.
One project at a time: Basket Plus allows communities to come together in order to alleviate poverty. The annual projects run by the organization are focused on sustainable outcomes that are tailored to the context and needs of each community. From the construction of a new outdoor basketball court, to a youth community center, or the construction of a well; every initiative aims at helping communities target youth in need. All infrastructure initiatives are accompanied by upstream engagement and training from our partners to ensure lasting results beyond our engagement.
Basket Plus creates partnerships with non-profits that do amazing work educating youth, but unfortunately do not always have the financial support that they deserve. Together, we identify needs in underprivileged communities. We then allow a varsity team to join in on a project. The idea behind each project is to provide infrastructure to youth in disadvantage neighborhoods. These sites are then used and monitored by the local non-profit and are beneficial to the local community.
